Giant Muffaletta Italian Sandwich Recipe

METHOD :


1️⃣ Make the Olive Salad:
In a bowl, combine the green olives, black olives, giardiniera, roasted red peppers, garlic, capers, olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well and set aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2️⃣ Prepare the Bread:
Slice the round loaf horizontally and hollow out some of the soft interior to make room for the fillings.

3️⃣ Layer the Meats and Cheeses:
On the bottom half of the bread, layer the ham, salami, mortadella, provolone, and mozzarella.

4️⃣ Add the Olive Salad:
Spread the olive salad evenly over the meat and cheese layers.

5️⃣ Assemble and Serve:
Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich. Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and let it sit for at least 1 hour (or up to 4 hours) to allow the flavors to meld. Slice into wedges and serve!
