Hungarian Mushroom Soup

METHOD :



1️⃣ Sauté the Vegetables:

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes, until softened.

Add the mushrooms and garlic, and cook for another 8-10 minutes, until the mushrooms release their moisture and turn golden brown.

2️⃣ Make the Soup Base:

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to coat. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.

Gradually whisk in the broth and milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer.

3️⃣ Add the Seasonings:

Stir in the smoked paprika, dill, and soy sauce. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the soup thickens slightly.

4️⃣ Finish with Sour Cream:

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy:

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with fresh parsley or dill if desired. Serve hot with crusty bread and enjoy this rich, comforting soup!
