1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (reserve shells for broth)
8 oz lump crab meat (fresh or canned)
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 celery stalks, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
4 cups seafood or chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup dry sherry (or white wine)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
½ tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
