Homemade Blueberry Jam (No Pectin!)

  

Steps to make blueberry jam: prepping, cooking, testing.

 

METHOD :



1️⃣ Mash & Macerate:

In a bowl, lightly crush blueberries with a potato masher.

Stir in sugar, lemon juice/zest, and salt. Let sit 30 mins.

2️⃣ Cook to Perfection:

Transfer mixture to a heavy pot. Simmer over medium heat, stirring often, until thickened (25-30 mins).

Test set point: Chill a spoonful on a cold plate—it should wrinkle when pushed.

3️⃣ Jar & Store:

Skim foam, stir in vanilla if using.

Pour into sterilized jars, leaving ¼” headspace.

Refrigerate up to 3 weeks or freeze for 6 months.
